Spencer, an English poet of Shakespeare's time, died

Edmund Spencer(1552-1599) Graduated from Cambridge University, he was a famous British poet, especially for his sonnets. In the eyes of many British critics, Spencer is one of the greatest poets in British history. Only two or three people, including Shakespeare, Milton, and Wordsworth, are on the same footing. From the eyes of a foreign reader, his poems are undoubtedly beautiful and recitable. For example, the sonnets he wrote are no worse than Shakespeare. Spencer also has long masterpieces, such as the long fable poems "The Fairy Queen" and "The Shepherd Boy's Calendar".
