On May 14, 2009 (April 20, 2009 in the lunar calendar), Pan Zhensheng, the children's song "Spring is there", passed away. Pan Zhensheng created a large number of children's songs, more than a thousand of which were published and broadcast in newspapers and radio stations across the country, and are praised as the contemporary "King of Children's Songs". His music theory book "Rambling on Children's Song Creation" has been serialized in national-level periodicals, his personal song collection "100 Songs on Small Horn", and more than 200 songs have been published on audio tapes, records, and VCD "The King of Children's Songs". in 1963, Pan Zhensheng create "I picked up a cent on that roadside" and was appraised by China cultural relic bureau. the manuscript and music score of "a cent" were rated as "first-class cultural relics of modern revolution." His "Where is Spring" has also become a "world famous song" in the world's children's music scene. He has won the title of "National Outstanding Juvenile Worker" and the "Golden Record Award" of China Record Company. Enjoy special allowances from the State Council since 1992. On the evening of May 14, 2009, Pan Zhensheng died in Nanjing at the age of 77 due to cerebral thrombosis that failed to respond to various treatments.
