Three Antarctic research ships ended their summer expeditions in the Antarctic waters and returned to Australia. The fleet conducted a thorough biological census of the surface of the Antarctic waters and the 1,000-meter-deep seabed. Three research ships anchored in Hobart, Tasmania, south of Australia, filled their cabins with marine life caught off the eastern Antarctic continent, 25 percent of which belonged to unknown species.
