On this day, 59 years ago, on January 10, 1966 (December 19, 1965, the lunar calendar), India and Pakistan signed the Tashkent Declaration. In Tashkent, the Soviet Union, Pakistan President Ayub and Indian Prime Minister Shastri signed the "Tashkent Declaration" under the "mediation" of Chairman of the Soviet Council of Ministers Kosykin, stipulating that the two sides do not interfere in each other's internal affairs and "do not use force, but use peaceful means to resolve disputes."
