31 years ago today, on September 20, 1994 (August 15, 1994 lunar calendar), Baosteel No. 3 blast furnace was ignited and put into operation. On September 20, 1994, Baosteel No. 3 blast furnace, the first major project of Baosteel Phase III project, was ignited and put into operation on September 20. This is the blast furnace with the largest volume, the latest technology and the highest degree of modernization in our country. Its completion marks the design, equipment, manufacturing and construction installation of large blast furnaces in our country, reaching the world's advanced level. Baosteel No. 3 blast furnace is a super large blast furnace designed and installed by our country with a volume of 4350 cubic meters and an annual output of 3.25 million tons of pig iron. It started construction on July 15, 1991, and the equipment localization rate reached more than 95%. Mainly based on Chongqing Iron and Steel Design and Research Institute of Baosteel Group, supplemented by Beijing Iron and Steel Design and Research Institute and Beijing Automation Institute, the designers jointly undertook the design task of No. 3 blast furnace. Aiming at world-class goals, the designers adopted more than ten world-advanced new technologies such as electrical, instrumentation, computer integration, central unloading type no-material bell top device, and pulverized coal injection. They developed a large-scale blast furnace automation application software with world-class level. For the first time, they adopted the technology imported from Japan and the third and fourth cooling walls manufactured by Baosteel itself. The design life of No. 3 blast furnace is 12 to 15 years.
