Eighty years ago today, on April 22, 1945 (March 11, 1945 in the lunar calendar), the famous German modern printmaker and sculptor Kollewitz died. Kesse Kollewitz was the most influential German printmaker of modern times. Born in Königsberg (East Ploughten) on July 8, 1867. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin in 1884, and then further education in Munich. In 1885-1886, he studied the etchings of Max Klingel under the teacher Stauffer-Bernen in Berlin. He created the first batch of copper engravings in 1890. In 1891, he married the "doctor" Karl Kollewitz. After being recommended by the painter Menzel, he was elected as a member of the Prussian Academy of Fine Arts and presided over the printmaking department. In 1919, she switched from her division to woodblock engraving. The first work was "In Memory of Liebknecht", and then she created a group painting "War" in 1922-23. As a brave anti-Nazi female soldier, she left the Prussian Academy of Fine Arts in 1933 angrily. In 1942, when "all-out war" began, she published her last woodblock engraving work, "Don't grind the harvested grain into powder".
