The Military Affairs Council was revoked and the War of Defense ended

On July 14, 1916, the Military Affairs Council announced its abolition.

At the beginning of its establishment, it was announced that the organization of the Military Affairs Council would be temporarily established to supplement the shortcomings of statutory agencies due to the necessity of the current situation. Its organizational regulations have also been clearly stated and will be abolished when the State Council is officially established. Therefore, when the treaty and the National Assembly were restored one after another, Liang Qichao took the opportunity to urge Tang Jiyao to abolish the Military Affairs Council. He intended to end the division between the north and the south to prevent the Military Affairs Council from being used by others and wanted to make friends with Duan Qirui.

On July 14, the Military Affairs Council, led by Fu Commander Tang Jiyao, sent a telegram to announce its cancellation. After the Beijing government received the telegram announcing the withdrawal of the Military Affairs Council, President Li Yuanhong immediately sent a telegram to the former Military Affairs Council and all those in charge in his private name to express their encouragement.

On the same day, the Chinese Revolutionary Army also announced to all branches by order of Sun Yat-sen: "The destruction is over, the construction begins, and in the name of revolution, it no longer exists. All party affairs should be stopped." The war to protect the country is over.
