On July 7, 1930, British writer Conan Doyle died
Ninety-five years ago today, on July 7, 1930 (June 12, 1930), the British writer Conan Doyle died. On July 7, 1930, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, who created the image of the great detective Sherlock Holmes, died at the age of 71. Holmes solved the crime for the first time in "A Study in Scarlet Letter" published in 1887. Four more novels and 55 stories were written by Holmes. Some were written by Conan Doyle reluctantly. Readers have long been tired of detective novels. In 1893 he tried to end Holmes, but failed. In 1904, Conan Doyle brought him back to life and appeared in "The Return of Sherlock Holmes". Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh and studied medicine at the medical school there. His knowledge of poisons and their effects later helped him greatly in writing certain stories with bizarre plots. His son died in the First World War. Since then, Conan Doyle has abandoned his analytical style in favour of idealism. Conan Doyle was knighted in 1902.
