Television was first developed in the United States in 1920, and in 1936 the United Kingdom began to establish the first television station in London. In 1940 the United States produced the world's first television, and in 1941 the first commercial television advertisement was broadcast. It was also the world's first television advertisement.
At 2:29 p.m. on July 1, 1941, NBC's WNBC television station in New York City aired an ad for Bulova Watch Company 10 seconds before the baseball game.
The content of the TV advertisement at that time was very simple. It was just a Polova watch displayed in front of a map of the United States, paired with the company's slogan narration: "America runs on Polova's time!』
