On this day, 80 years ago, on January 27, 1945 (December 14, 1944, the lunar calendar), the China Expeditionary Force recovered northern Myanmar and opened up the China-India-Myanmar Highway. The troops stationed in India advanced towards northern Myanmar with the support of the air force.
