On this day, 85 years ago, on December 5, 1940 (November 7, 1940 in the lunar calendar), the Hundred Regiments War ended. The Hundred Regiments Battle of Niangziguan by the Eighth Route Army, also known as the Southern Shanxi Guerrilla Warfare, referred to the campaign against Japan launched by the Eighth Route Army of the Communist Party of China (18th Group Army), including the 120th Division and 129th Division, the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region and local militia from August to December 1940. In the early days of the war, the war reports (the first stage) totaled 105 regiments, so it was named the Hundred Regiments Battle (formerly the Zhengtai Campaign).
