On June 15, 2012 (April 26, 2012), Ming Ji, "the father of Taiwan's new film", passed away. Photo: Mr. Ming Ji went to Taiwan in 1949. He served as a general of the Chinese Kuomintang, director of the studio of China Film Company, general manager, deputy director of the Central Cultural Work Committee (ministerial level), professor of Chinese Culture University (professor of Russian), chairperson of the Taiwan Film and Opera Association, and academician of the International Slavic Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. On November 28, 2009, the 46th Golden Horse Awards Ceremony was held tonight at the County Hall in Taipei. Ming Ji, the man behind the promotion of Taiwan's new film and the former general manager of China Film, was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award. Ming Ji said that he would like to thank all the partners who participated in the production of Taiwan's new film, as well as all the supporters and family members. On the evening of June 15, 2012, he passed away at the Taipei Neihu Tri-Services General Hospital at the age of 89.
