Kang Youwei founded the "Royalist Club" in Canada

On July 20, 1899, Kang Youwei founded the "Association to Save the Qing Emperor" in the Thousand Islands of Canada with overseas Chinese businesspeople Li Fuji and Feng Xiushi, referred to as the Royal Society. After the failure of the Eighteen Days Reformation, Kang Youwei went into exile and did not forget to reform and organized this reformist political group. Kang Youwei served as the chairperson, Liang Qichao and Xu Qin served as the vice chairpeople. With the purpose of saving Guangxu, opposing Cixi and resisting the revolution, he successively established organizations in the United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, Japan, Southeast Asia and other places. There were 11 associations and 103 branches, with headquarters in Macau. With Macau Zhixin Pao and Yokohama Chiang Yi Pao as mouthpieces, it promoted the constitutional monarchy.
