Admiral Horti Miklos took control of the new European country of Hungary, which ended the communist leadership of Bella-Kuhn and the Romanian occupation. Horti was the last commander-in-chief of the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Horti Miklos (1868~ 1957), regent of the Kingdom of Hungary (1920-1947). Hungarian fascist dictator. Born into an aristocratic family, he died on February 9, 1957. He joined the Austro-Hungarian Naval Academy in his early years. From 1909 to 1914, he served as an aide-de-camp to Emperor Francis Joseph. At the end of World War I, he served as the commander of the Austro-Hungarian Navy. In 1919, he served as the military minister in the counter-revolutionary government, organized the counter-revolutionary "National Army", and suppressed the Hungarian Soviet Republic. After the defeat of the Soviet Republic, Horti Miklos entered Budapest on November 16, 1919, and carried out white terror and massacred a large number of communists and revolutionaries. On March 1, 1920, he forced the parliament to elect him as regent by force, restored the monarchy, and established a dictatorship. During his reign, he implemented an autocratic dictatorship at home, issued a series of fascist decrees, and joined Nazi Germany abroad. In November 1940, he announced that he would join the German-Italian-Japanese fascist alliance. War was declared on the Soviet Union on June 27, 1941. The defeat of German fascism in 1943 was a foregone conclusion, and he tried to make a separate peace with the West. On March 19, 1944, the Germans used this as a pretext to occupy the whole of Hungary. On October 15 of the same year, Horti Miklos was forced to abdicate and transfer power to Sarasi Ferenz (1897-1946), the leader of the Arrow Cross party loyal to the Nazis. After Germany surrendered in 1945, he was imprisoned as a war criminal in Bavaria, Germany. He was released in 1946 and exiled in Portugal.
