On this day 76 years ago, on November 27, 1949 (October 8, 1949 lunar calendar), Xi Maozhao and others were killed at the "Sino-US Cooperation Institute". On November 27, 1949, Xi Maozhao, Huang Ningkang, Tang Jianyu, Chen Benli and other 4 people were killed at the "Sino-US Cooperation Institute". Xi Maozhao, also known as Xi Zeming and Xi Kejin, was a native of Yilong County, Sichuan Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1933 and went to Tianquan County to work in 1935. The Red Army's Long March passed through TianourHours, and he joined the Red Army. After that, he accepted the party's dispatch and bravely completed the task of escorting Comrade Chen Yun to Shanghai via Chongqing. In September 1937, Xi Maozhao went to the Central Party School in Yan'an to study. In February 1938, he was sent back to Sichuan to work. On March 18, 1948, he was arrested by agents in Ya'an and sent to the "Zhai Cave" in Chongqing, where he was later killed in the massacre of the US-Chiang spies. After liberation, because he did not know Xi Maozhao's situation, he mistakenly believed that he joined the Red Army as a fake and was not designated a martyr. Chen Yun made many inquiries about Xi Maozhao's whereabouts during the Anti-Japanese War and after liberation, but he was unable to find it. In April 1983, Chen Yun was extremely concerned after learning that Xi Maozhao was killed in the "Sino-US Cooperation Institute" on the eve of liberation. In July 1983, Chen Yun saw that Xi Maozhao was not among the martyrs of the Sino-American Cooperation Institute in the newspaper, so he sent letters and telegrams to the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Yilong County Committee of the Communist Party of China many times to inquire about the situation, and provided important clues for the review, so that Xi Maozhao's problem was quickly found out. In December 1983, after the Organization Department of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China sent someone to review Xi Maozhao's situation and photos to Chen Yun, Chen Yun wrote detailed and precious supporting materials for Comrade Xi Maozhao on December 20, pointing out: "I believe that Xi Maozhao should be affirmed as a revolutionary martyr, and his achievements in completing the important task of escorting me out of Sichuan should be recorded." In 1984, the Sichuan Provincial People's Government recognized Xi Maozhao, Huang Ningkang, Tang Jianyu, and Chen Benli as revolutionary martyrs.
