101 years ago today, on February 14, 1924 (January 10, 1924 lunar calendar), International Business Machines Co., Ltd. (ie IBM) was established. IBM (InternationalBusinessMachinesCorporation), International Business Machines Corporation, or the abbreviation of International Business Machines Corporation. The head office is in Amunk, New York. Founded in the United States in 1911, it is the world's largest information technology and business solution company. It currently has more than 300,000 employees worldwide and operates in more than 160 countries and regions. The company was founded with the main business of commercial typewriters, and later converted to word processors, and then to computers and related services. In addition, the World Magicians Association is also referred to as IBM. IBM's history can be traced back decades before the development of electronic computers, which were punched card data processing equipment. IBM was registered as a CTR Corporation on June 15, 1911, in Endicott, New York, a few miles west of Binghamton. Three separate companies merged to form the CTR Corporation: The Tableau Company (founded in Washington in 1896), The Calculator Company (founded in Dayton, Ohio in 1901), and International Time Records (founded in Endicott, New York in 1900). The president and founder of the Tableau Company at that time was Herman Hollerith. The point person behind the merger was financier Charles Flint, who called together the founders of the three companies to propose a merger and serve on the CRT until his retirement in 1930. Thomas. J. Watson was the founder of IBM. He served as the general manager of CTR in 1914 and president in 1915. In 1917, CTR entered the Canadian market as International Business Machines Co., Ltd., and changed its name to International Business Machines Corporation (IBM) on February 14, 1924. The companies merged to form CTR to manufacture various products, including employee timing systems, scales, automatic meat cutters, and most importantly, to develop computers, punch card equipment. For a period of time, CTR concentrated on making punch cards and no longer participated in other activities. Over the past ninety years, the world economy has continued to develop and modern science has changed with each passing day.
