Shen Yanbing, Zheng Zhenduo, Ye Shaojun, Zhu Xizu, Zhou Zuoren, Geng Jizhi, Qu Shiying, Wang Tongzhao, Guo Shaoyu, Sun Fuyuan and Xu Dishan became the main members of this organization. They advocate "art for life". It is the earliest new literary group established in modern China. A total of 172 members have been officially registered. The association advocates realistic literature for life, and has made contributions to opposing old literature, developing new literature creation, literary and artistic criticism, and the research and introduction of foreign literature. At first, the "Novel Monthly" was compiled on behalf of the conference magazine, and later, the magazine "Literature Xunbao" and "Poetry" were successively established. It has also compiled and compiled more than 100 kinds of "Literary Research Society Series Series" and "Literary Research Society Creation Series". The association is a literary union and is relatively loosely organized. In January 1932, it was dissolved on its own due to the suspension of "Novel Monthly".
