Ninety-seven years ago today, on May 18, 1928 (March 29, 1928), Mao Zedong proposed the sixteen-character formula for guerrilla warfare. In May 1928, Mao Zedong summed up the combat experience of the Jinggangshan Revolutionary Army of Workers and Peasants and the guerrillas, and summed up the basic principles of guerrilla warfare as follows: "The enemy advances and I retreat, the enemy is stationed and I disturb, the enemy is tired and I fight, and the enemy retreats and I chase." That is the famous "sixteen-character formula".
