Desmond Tutu, a famous black bishop in South Africa, one of the main leaders of the "National Forum". Winner of the "Nobel Peace Prize" in 1984. Born in a family of black teachers in Chrysdorp, Transvaal Province, South Africa. Studied at Bantu Secondary School and Bantu Teachers College in Pretoria, South Africa. Served as a teacher, lecturer and priest from 1954 to 1975. Bishop in the Kingdom of Lesotho from 1977 to 1978. Appointed Secretary General of the Council of Christian Churches in South Africa in 1979. Sworn in as the first black bishop in South Africa on February 3, 1985 in Johannesburg. He has always opposed racial discrimination and apartheid in South Africa, and is a fighter for black liberation. He also received honorary degrees in theology, law, and civil law from some famous universities in the United States and Britain. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on October 16, 1984.
