On this day, 38 years ago, on September 18, 1987 (July 26, 1987, the national model worker Zhang Binggui passed away. Zhang Binggui (1919-1987) was from Beijing. During his lifetime, he was a salesperson in a department store in Beijing City, a famous model worker in the country, and a red flag on the commercial front. Since he started commercial work in 1955, he has always closely integrated his job with the lofty goals of communism during his more than 30 years of counter career. At the counter, he served customers enthusiastically, warming the hearts of millions of customers with the spirit of "one fire" of serving the people wholeheartedly. He has created a whole set of service experience and developed excellent service skills such as "grasping correctly" when taking sugar and "clearing in one bite" when settling accounts. In his later years, he selflessly passed on the valuable experience and skills accumulated over decades to the younger generation. His exemplary deeds have been widely circulated on the national commercial front and enjoy a high reputation at home and abroad. He himself has won lofty honorary titles awarded by the party and the state many times, was elected as a representative of the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Fifth and Sixth National People's Congress, and won the title of the country's first special salesperson. Due to long-term overwork, he unfortunately died of illness on September 18 at the age of 68. At the end of his life, the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China awarded him the honorary title of Outstanding Communist Party Member next to his sick bed. On September 19 and 20, the Ministry of Commerce and the All-China Federation of Trade Unions issued notices respectively, calling on the business system and employees across the country to carefully study his spirit of "one fire".
