Twenty-seven years ago today, on August 7, 1998 (June 16, 1998 lunar calendar), the Lancila Optical Cable Trunk Line was fully opened. On August 7, 1998, the Lanzhou-Xining-Lhasa Optical Cable Trunk Line, a key national "Ninth Five-Year" project, was fully opened today. Jiang Zemin inscribed the commemorative sculpture of the Lancila Optical Cable Project: "Commemorative of the completion of the Lhasa Optical Cable Communication Trunk Line Project in Xining, Lanzhou jointly built by the military and the people".
