Three weeks after China's first telegraph line from Tianjin to Shanghai was erected in 1881, on January 16, 1882, the "Declaration" published a special telegram sent by the newspaper's reporter in Beijing from Tianjin. The content was about the Qing government's investigation of a derelict official. This was the beginning of the use of "this newspaper's special telegram" in China. In the future, whenever the Beijing-Tianjin Telecom was received, the "Declaration" was published with the words "Transliteration of the Electronic Transcription" or "This newspaper received the electronic sound itself". This was the earliest "electric head" in Chinese newspapers, opening a new chapter in the Chinese newspaper industry.
