Thirty-six years ago today, on November 11, 1989 (October 14, 1989), the largest aviation museum in Asia was officially opened. On November 11, 1989, the largest aviation museum in Asia, the Beijing Aviation Museum, was officially opened. This day is the 40th anniversary of the birth of the Chinese People's Air Force. The museum has collected 88 models and 153 aircraft, as well as more than 600 equipment samples such as surface-to-air missiles, anti-aircraft guns, anti-aircraft radars, aerial bombs, and aerial cameras. Among them, the Type 99 advanced trainer aircraft, Wave-2, 1, 1-5, P-51, La-9, La-11, IL-10, Tu-1-2, Yak-12, Yak-17, J-12 and other aircraft are world aviation treasures. The purpose of the Aviation Museum is to establish physical archives, attach importance to aviation historical facts, popularize aviation knowledge, strengthen national defense awareness, invigorate national spirit, strengthen internal and external exchanges, and promote scientific and technological development.
