At the 38th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency held on September 20, 1994, representatives of 38 countries signed the Convention on Nuclear Safety, and the representative of China officially signed the Convention. Signatories also include Austria, Germany, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation, France, Pakistan, India, Romania, South Korea, Australia, Algeria, Brazil, Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile, Cuba, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Hungary, Indonesia, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Sudan, South Africa, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, Sweden, Canada, Ireland, the Czech Republic, etc. Ambassador Chen Shiqiu, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations in Vienna, signed the Convention on Nuclear Safety on behalf of the Chinese government.
