Thirty-four years ago today, on April 24, 1991 (March 10, 1991), I stopped broadcasting messages to Kuomintang officers and soldiers on Kinmen and other islands. On April 24, 1991, the spokesperson of the Chinese People's Liberation Army garrison in Fujian was ordered to announce that, with immediate effect, my cable radio stations and their affiliated sub-stations in the coastal area of Xiamen will stop broadcasting messages to Kuomintang officers and soldiers stationed on Kinmen and other islands, in order to further ease the situation in the Taiwan Strait, create a peaceful and happy atmosphere, and ensure the normal work and life of compatriots on both sides of the strait. It is hoped that the Taiwan authorities will take practical actions to make efforts to comprehensively end the standoff between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, realize the "three links", and complete the great cause of peaceful reunification of the motherland.
