The unveiling ceremony took place in the assembly hangar of the Airbus A380 in Toulouse, which is one of the largest urban venues in Europe. The guests attending the unveiling ceremony included French President Chirac, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, Spanish Prime Minister Zapatero, and 17 airline owners and 5,000 other guests from around the world. They all gave praise to this amazing behemoth, believing that it will open a new chapter in commercial aviation from both a technological and a commercial perspective. Fourteen airlines have ordered 149 Airbus A380s. Europe's goal of selling 750 A380s by 2019, or 50 per cent of the world's large aircraft market over the next 20 years, is not seen as a fantasy by most merchants.
