Thirty-three years ago today, on April 24, 1992 (March 22, 1992 lunar calendar), a large number of Western Zhou Dynasty cultural relics were unearthed in Quwo, Shanxi Province. On April 24, 1992, Peking University and the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology jointly excavated a large area of Western Zhou Dynasty ruins and tomb complexes. A total of 140 bronze ritual vessels were unearthed in more than 40 tombs, of which 40 had inscriptions. The unearthed cultural relics also included bronze table ware, carriage and horse ware, earthenware, jade, stone, bone, shell, clam, lead ware, etc. It is rare in the history of archaeology. The excavation, led by Professor Zou Heng of the Department of Archaeology of Peking University, has lasted for 13 years and has been excavated 8 times. These excavations and studies have made major breakthroughs in historical doubts such as where the first fiefs of the Jin Dynasty and the old rivers were in history.
