On December 7, 1971, China established diplomatic relations with Senegal
On this day, 54 years ago, December 7, 1971 (October 20, 1971 in the lunar calendar), China and the Republic of Senegal established diplomatic relations. On January 3, 1996, the Serbian government and the Taiwan authorities signed a communiqué on the resumption of diplomatic relations. On January 9, the China government announced the suspension of diplomatic relations with Serbia. On October 25, 2005, China Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing and Senegal Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Cheikh Tidiane Gadio signed a communiqué on the resumption of diplomatic relations in Beijing, and the two countries resumed diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level.
