Nantong COSCO Shipping participated in the R & D and basic design of this project, and undertook detailed design, production design, overall construction and installation and debugging of all equipment. It has reached the world's leading level in technology and construction, and has been recognized by the shipowner, Norway Classification Society and the end user Petrobras. The "SEVANDRILLER" offshore drilling and storage platform belongs to the high-end leading product with the highest technical level and the strongest operating ability among the world's offshore oil drilling platforms today. It is designed to have a water depth of 12500 feet and a drilling depth of 40000 feet. It is positioned by eight thrusters and is equipped with the world's most advanced DP-3 dynamic positioning system and mooring system to adapt to the harsh sea conditions of minus 20 degrees in the British North Sea. The platform deck has a variable load of 15000 tons and a storage capacity of 150,000 barrels of crude oil. This platform has a total height of 135 meters, a diameter of 84 meters, a main deck height of 24.5 meters, an empty ship weight of 28180 tons, and a living building can accommodate 150 people. According to reports, the "SEVANDRILLER" is very powerful and the equipment is extremely complex. Among them, more than 620 kilometers of cable ropes alone are laid, more than 14000 automatic alarm points are automatically controlled, and more than 930 sets of various special drilling and other large-scale equipment are installed internally. These data have set the first place in the country and even the first place in the world, while the design and main construction cycle only takes 24 months, half a year ahead of the construction cycle of similar international products. At the same time, this project is the first one in the domestic offshore engineering field to adopt 100% no-margin construction, filling the gap in the construction of domestic offshore engineering steel structures without margin. Wang Xingru, general manager of COSCO Shipping, said that the company currently has a total of US$1.2 billion in offshore engineering products in hand, and the output value accounts for one-third of the domestic offshore engineering market share.
