But the coup failed quickly. Jin Yujun fled to Japan. He was later assassinated by North Korean conservatives in Shanghai, China. Jin Yujun was a politician during the Gaozong period of Korea. The word Bo Wen, the names Gu Yun, Gu Yu, and the posthumous title Zhong Da. At the age of 6, he was adopted by Jin Bingji as his adopted son. In 1872 (the ninth year of Emperor Gaozong), he graduated from Yutang and was promoted to Hucao. He once traveled eastward to Japan to inspect the social, political and economic system, and after the "Renwu Military Rebellion", he went to Japan to conduct extensive activities as a consultant to repair messenger Park Yong-hsiao and deputy envoy Jin Wan-sik. At this time, Qi ministers in the domestic court were in power, and their thoughts on big matters were extremely inflated. Relying on the backing of the Qing Dynasty, the national politics became increasingly dark. To this end, Jin Yujun was determined to break stereotypes and reform national politics, and formed an Independent Party with Park Yong-hsiao, Hong Young-sik, Xu Guangfan and others. In order to overthrow the conservative government, on December 4, 1884, taking the opening ceremony of the post office as an opportunity to carry out a coup d'état with Park Young-hsiao, Hong Young-shik and others (Jiashen coup d'état). After eliminating the leaders of the major parties in the name of the king, a new government was organized and appointed as the chief judge of Hu Cao and Hui Shang Gong Bureau (official title). However, due to obstacles from the Qing army stationed in the country, it failed in only three days. Jin Yujun fled to Japan, changed his name to Iwata Zhou Zuo, and traveled to Ogasawara Island, Hokkaido, Tokyo and other places for ten years. In order to use the power of the Qing Dynasty to complete his unfinished ambitions, he went to Shanghai. On March 28, 1894, he was assassinated by Hong Zhongyu in Donghe Yanghang, Shanghai. Qing officials protected Hong Zhongyu and used the warship Weiyuan to extradite Jin Yujun's body to South Korea. The court chopped him up and beheaded him for treason. However, after the new cabinet was established the following year, at the request of Minister of Justice Xu Guangfan and Prime Minister Kim Hongji, he was cleared of his crimes and restored to his official position.
