Founder of wave mechanics. He was born in Vienna on August 12, 1887, and died on January 4, 1961 in the Alpbach mountain village in Austria. In 1906, he entered the Physics Department of the University of Vienna. Received his doctorate in 1910. After graduation, he worked at the Second Institute of Physics of the University of Vienna. Until 1920, he mainly taught at the University of Vienna. From 1921 to 1927, he taught at the University of Zurich. In 1927, he succeeded Planck to the University of Berlin as professor of theoretical physics and became a member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences. In 1933, due to Nazi persecution, Schrödinger moved to Oxford, England, and served as a visiting professor at Magdalen College. In 1926, Schrödinger proposed the theory of using wave equations to describe the motion of microscopic particles, later known as Schrödinger's equation, which laid the foundation of wave mechanics, and thus won the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics with P.
