Lian Kuoru, born in 1902, is a native of Beijing City, Manchu, and a storyteller actor. In his early years, he learned about the Western Han Dynasty and the Eastern Han Dynasty from Li Jieen and Zhang Chengbin. In the 1930s, he became famous for speaking "Eastern Han". "Three Requests for Yao Qi","Ma Wu Raises in the Martial Examination Room" and "Battle of Kunyang" are all his most successful episodes. After the founding of New China,"Three Kingdoms" and "Water Margin" were carefully studied, and the performance was successful. He also wrote "Flying to Seize the Huding Bridge" and other works reflecting the themes of the Red Army's Long March. He passed away on August 18, 1971.
