January 1, 1965 The armed struggle led by Fatah began
On this day 60 years ago, on January 1, 1965 (November 29, 1964 lunar calendar), the armed struggle led by Fatah began. "Fatah" is the abbreviation of the Palestinian National Liberation Movement. It was secretly established at the end of 1956 and is the largest of the various Palestinian nationalist movement organizations. Its military organization is the "Storm" Commando. The main goal is to overthrow Israeli Zionism and establish a "progressive, democratic, regardless of religious beliefs, and non-racist state" in Palestine. In May 1964, its representatives participated in the formation of the "Palestine Liberation Organization". On the day of 1965, Fatah led the people to carry out the anti-Israel armed struggle. After the "Six-Five-Year" War in 1967, the strength developed and became the main force in the PLO armed struggle. In recent years, there has been an emphasis on diplomacy, with proposals to accept the creation of a state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. There is a radio station "Voice of the Storm" and a news publication "Harvest of the Storm".
