On August 12, 1121, David IV achieved a decisive victory in the famous Battle of Didgeri in Georgian history. The Muslim coalition army composed of many Seljuk feudal lords was completely defeated, and David IV took advantage of the situation to attack and in 1122 regained Tbilisi, which had been occupied by the Arabs hundreds of years ago. He immediately moved the capital from Kutaisi to Tbilisi.
