The Qing government signed the Sino-Russian Beijing Treaty with Russia.

On November 14, 1860, the imperial envoy Yu Xin and the Russian envoy Ignatiev signed the "China-Russia Beijing Treaty" in Beijing, also known as the "China-Russia Continuation Treaty." There are 15 paragraphs in total, the main contents are: 1. Recognize the China-Russia Treaty of Righteous Huni "; 2. Transfer to Russia about 400,000 square kilometers of China territory east of the Wusuli River, including Sakhalin Island, originally planned to be jointly managed by the two countries; 3. Define the western boundary between China and Russia. The inner lakes Zhaisangpo and Temurtunoer, which originally belonged to China, are designated boundary lakes. In this way, it not only moved the western border of China greatly eastward from Lake Balkhash, but also provided a treaty "basis" for tsarist Russia to further embezzle China territory in the east of the lake and Hunan. Tsarist Russia took advantage of the Second Opium War to plunder more than 1 million square kilometers of China's territory without bloodshed.

Key words: November 14, 1860, Russia, Qing Dynasty, Treaty
