On this day, 71 years ago, September 20, 1954 (August 24, 1954 in the lunar calendar), the Constitution of the People's Republic of China was promulgated and implemented. On June 14, 1954, the 30th meeting of the Central People's Government Committee adopted the "Draft Constitution of the People's Republic of China." On September 20, 1954, the first meeting of the First National Congress of the People's Republic of China adopted the "Constitution of the People's Republic of China." This is my country's first socialist constitution. There are 106 articles in four chapters of the Constitution, which clearly define the national nature of the people's democratic dictatorship led by the workers 'stage and based on the alliance of workers and peasants, the overall goals and steps for building socialism, the political system of the People's Congress, and the rights and obligations of the people. The Constitution confirms the general line for the transition period proposed by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, recognizes the existing five economic components: the state-owned economy, cooperative economy, and capitalist economy, and clearly stipulates that the state-owned economy is the leading force in the national economy and the material basis for the country's socialist transformation.
