On this day, 39 years ago, on May 3, 1986 (March 25, 1986, the lunar calendar), Wang Xijue flew back to the mainland to settle down. Taiwan's China Airlines Captain Wang Xijue flew over Guangzhou in a cargo plane. On May 3, 1986, a Boeing 747 cargo plane of Taiwan's China Airlines landed at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. The incident led to the first direct negotiation between the mainland of China and Taiwan in 37 years. On May 3, Taiwan's "China Airlines" cargo plane B198 flew back to Taiwan from Bangkok via Hong Kong.
