145 years ago today, May 16, 1880 (April 8, 1880 in the lunar calendar), the Hungarian General Workers 'Party was established. From May 16 to 17, 1880, the Hungarian National Workers 'Congress was held in Budapest and decided to "unite the politically powerless and economically oppressed working class-various forms of parties that exist now into a unified leadership Workers' Party", named the Hungarian General Workers 'Party. In 1890, it was renamed the Hungarian Social Democratic Party. Its founder is Frankel Leo. Frankel was an outstanding fighter in the Hungarian and international workers 'movement. 1867--1871 In 1979, he lived in France. He organized German, Austrian and Hungarian workers working in France, joined the First International, and established the Second Branch in Paris. In June 1870, the French authorities tried the leaders of the Paris branch of the First International for the third time on charges of "organizing a secret society" and "murdering the emperor." Frankel made generous remarks in the court, refuting the authorities 'false accusations one by one. To this end, Marx praised him in a letter to Engels, saying: "The little Jew Frankel won the crown for himself. Frankel, Varlan, Dewar and others led the world-shaking Paris Commune. He was elected as a member of the Labor and Exchange Committee of the Paris Commune and drafted a series of important resolutions and decrees on social and economic measures. Among them, the decree on the transfer of factories and enterprises abandoned by fugitive owners to the Workers 'Association was regarded by Engels as "the most important decree of the Commune." After the failure of the Paris Commune, Frankel went into exile in England. During his stay in the UK, he participated in the work of the General Committee of the First International and served as Secretary of Communications of Austria and Hungary. Frankel originally had close communication with Marx. During his stay in London, he often went in and out of Marx's home and established close friends with Marx's son-in-law Lafarge and daughter Laura Marx. Frankel returned to China in 1876 and led the Hungarian workers 'movement. After his extensive publicity and education work, he finally united workers' organizations of all factions to form a unified Hungarian working class party.
