Li Liejun, born in 1882, also known as Xiehe, and nicknamed Xia Huang, was born in Wuning County, Jiangxi Province. He was born in Zhenwu School, Japan in 1904. In 1924, he supported Sun Yat-sen's three major policies and was elected as a member of the Central Executive Committee at the National Congress of the Kuomintang. In 1925, at the invitation of Feng Yuxiang, he served as the General Staff of the National Army. In early 1927, he was appointed by Chiang Kai-shek as chairman of the Jiangxi Province government.
