In 1937,"Camel Xiangzi" was published. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he served as director and director of the General Affairs Department of the All-China Literary and Art Circles Anti-Enemy Association, engaged in the Anti-Japanese literary movement. Here he wrote the novel "Four Generations Together". He went to the United States to give lectures in 1946 and returned to China at the end of 1949.
