At the Battle of Legnika, the Mongolian army defeated the coalition of Polish and Roman aristocrats

The Battle of Legnica, also known as the Battle of Legnitz or the Battle of Legnitz, broke out on April 9, 1241 at Legnickie Pole near Legnica in present-day Poland. The two warring parties were the Mongolian army led by Batu and Subutai, and the Polish army led by Henry II, Duke of Silesia.
