The Baocheng Railway starts from Baoji, Shaanxi Province in the north and reaches Chengdu, Sichuan Province in the south. It connects with Chengdu, Chongqing and Chengkun lines, with a total length of 669 kilometers. It is the first set of mountain railways connecting the northwest and southwest regions. It started construction in Chengdu and Baoji in July 1954. On July 12, 1956, it connected with the Huangsha River. In 1958, the whole line of Jordan was delivered and put into operation. The line entered the Qinling mountainous area after Baoji, circled along the Qingjiang River, passed through the Qinling Pass with a long tunnel, and went south along the Jialing River to Guangyuan, crossing the Jialing River 16 times. There are 304 tunnels on the whole line, with an extension of 84 kilometers. There are 1,001 large, medium and small bridges, with an extension of 28 kilometers. The total extension of bridges and tunnels accounts for 17% of the length of the line. The longest tunnel on the whole line is the Xinhui Longchang Tunnel, with a length of 4245 meters. After the completion of the Baocheng Railway, due to the large slope and many tunnels, electrification was carried out. The first phase of the project, the 91-kilometer electrification of the Baoji-Fengzhou section, was completed in 1961. In 1975, the electrification of the whole line was completed. The completion of this railway changed the situation of "Shu Road Difficulty" and created important conditions for the development of economic construction in the southwest region. It is the first railway trunk line connecting the northwest and southwest. It is also the first railway to break through the "Shu Road Difficulty". Baocheng Railway is the In order to overcome the terrain height difference, three horseshoe-shaped and one spiral-shaped circuitous extension line was raised, and the line was rearranged for three floors, reaching a height of 817 meters. Then, a tunnel of more than 2,000 meters long passed through the Qinling Pass and entered the Jialing River Basin. The main works completed on the whole line are: 71.16 million cubic meters of subgrade earth and stone; 304 tunnels with a total length of 84.4 kilometers; 1001 bridges with a total length of 28.1 kilometers; the total length of bridges and tunnels accounts for about 17% of the length of the line, and the main line is 667.71 kilometers. From the start of construction to the delivery and operation, 58 serious landslides and 272 collapses occurred successively. The amount and difficulty of remediation work are quite large.
