Breaking-News >> TodayHistory Volt, a physicist and inventor of the battery, was born
Alessandro Giuseppe Antonio Anatácio Volta (1745-1827) Italian physicist. Born in Como on February 18, 1745, he became an adult curious enough to study natural phenomena. In 1774 Volta became professor of physics at the University of Como. In the same year he invented the electrifying disk, a device that provides electricity by the principle of electrostatic induction. Volta also studied chemistry and conducted experiments on the explosion of various gases. In 1779 he became professor of physics at the University of Barver. In 1782 he became a member of the French Society of Sciences. In 1791 he was elected a member of the Royal Society of London. In 1794 Volta was awarded the Copley Medal for his contributions to electricity and chemistry. In 1800 he announced the invention of the Volta stack. In 1801, Napoleon summoned Volta to Paris, and the French Academy of Sciences awarded Volta a gold medal. Volt was in his 50s when he invented the electric stack. He never imagined that continuous current would have such a great impact on the future. He did not do any further research and continued to teach at the University of Barver. Volt retired to his hometown in 1819 and died on March 5, 1827.
