On October 26, 2001, the 10-day first Chinese Acrobatic Art Festival came to an end at the Beijing Workers 'Gymnasium with its incredible acrobatics and unpredictable magic. At the same time, the results of the selection of the first Chinese Acrobatic Golden Chrysanthemum Award plays, programs and individual awards were also announced tonight. The Chinese Acrobatic Troupe's "Soul of China" and other dramas (festivals), as well as some performing units and individuals, won various awards. The first Acrobatic Golden Chrysanthemum Award is a national expert award at the same level as the Golden Rooster Award and the Opera Plum Blossom Award. The Chinese Acrobatic Troupe's "Soul of China" won the Golden Chrysanthemum Award for the repertoire, and two plays including "On the Side of the Moon" by the Advance Acrobatic Troupe of the Shenyang Military Region won the Outstanding repertoire award; 6 programs including "Silk Tune-Blue Daydream" by the Zhanqi Acrobatic Troupe of the Chengdu Military Region won the Golden Chrysanthemum Award for the program, and 7 programs including "Color Chain in the Sky" by the Heilongjiang Province Acrobatic Troupe won the Outstanding Program Award; 5 actors including Xiang Li won the Best Actor Award. In addition, Bian Faji and others and the drama (festival) won the Best Choreographer Award, Best Teacher Award, Best Music Award, Best Dance Award, Best Costume Award, Best Prop Award, Innovation Award, and Special Choreographer Award respectively. The first Acrobatic Art Festival is a grand event co-sponsored by China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Beijing City Government, and China Acrobatics Association to showcase the brilliant achievements of acrobatic art.
