238 years ago today, January 11, 1787 (November 22, 1786, the lunar calendar), two moons of Uranus were discovered. Uranus has at least 24 moons. Among them, Stranon 1 to Stranon are the five major large satellites. Oron and Oron were discovered by William Herschel in 1787, Oron and Oron were discovered by Russell in 1851, and Oron was not discovered by Kuiper until 1948.
