Toshio Kuroda (1899~1986) was former president of the Japan-China Friendship Association. From Okayama Prefecture. Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Tokyo Imperial University in 1923. Former lawyer. Joined the Socialist League in 1920. In 1924, he participated in the "Political Research Society" centered on Ikuo Oyama. In 1926, he joined the Working Peasant Party. In 1928, he joined the proletarian party and served as a member of the Central Committee. Elected to the House of Representatives many times since 1936. In 1937, he was arrested for the "People's Front Incident". After the war, he joined the Socialist Party and served as a member of the Central Executive Committee. In 1947, he served as Executive Chairman of the Central Committee of the Japanese Farmers 'Association. In 1948, he withdrew from the Socialist Party and established the Workers and Peasants Party, serving as chairman. In 1957, the party merged into the Socialist Party, and later served as chairman and adviser to the party's Central Supervisory Committee. He has served as president of the Japan National Rescue Association, chairman of the Asian Center for Human Rights, vice president of the Japan-China Friendship Association, vice president of the Japan-Soviet Friendship Association, and consultant to the Japan-Cambodia Friendship Association. From June 1967 to 1980, he served as president of the Japan-China Friendship Association. He has long been committed to Japan-China friendship and has visited China many times.
