On this day, 33 years ago, on May 23, 1992 (April 21, 1992 in the lunar calendar), the famous Italian judge Falcone was assassinated by the Mafia. On the afternoon of May 23, the crime director of the Italian Ministry of Justice and the famous judge Giovanni Falcone, who was regarded as the anti-mafia "flag", was killed by the mafia in Sicily. At 6 p.m. that day, Judge Falcone and his wife flew from Rome to Palermo Airport in Sicily on a special plane, ready to go home for the weekend. After getting off the plane, he drove his own bulletproof car and drove towards the city under the escort of two guards at the front and back. 20 kilometers away from the city, a ton of explosives pre-buried by the mafia in a pedestrian passage under the road was detonated by remote control. Instantly, dust flew up and the 400-meter-long highway was severely damaged. Judge Falcone's car and seven other vehicles were blown up. Three guards on the road were also killed on the spot.
