From January 19 to February 10, 1932, the Red Fourth Front Army commanded by Xu Xiangqian, with the support and cooperation of the people and local armed forces in southeastern Henan, launched the Battle of Huang (Chuan) and Shang (City), one of the famous four major battles in the Hubei-Henan-Anhui base area. The Battle of Dufudian in Huangchuan was the key battle of the Battle of Huangshang. In this fierce ambush, the famous Red Army generals Wang Shusheng (Red Eleven Division Commander), Chen Geng (Red Twelve Division Commander), Xu Haidong, Xu Shiyou and other Red Army commanders and fighters showed great prestige, brandishing broadswords and waging white-edged fights with the enemy on the frontier positions, fully demonstrating the heroism of the Red Army to move forward and overwhelm all enemies. After 23 days, the Red Army retreated 19 regiments with 10 regiments, wiping out more than 4,000 enemy personnel, causing the second division of Chiang Kai-shek's direct line, which had just entered the battlefield in Hubei, Henan and Anhui, to be annihilated as soon as they stepped out, and the division commander Tang Enbo was dismissed. In June 1932, in response to the enemy's attempt to "consolidate Huangchuan, divide troops in four places, and occupy a wide area", the headquarters of the Fourth Red Front Army decided to immediately launch the Battle of Huangguang, first dividing and encircling the enemy, and then annihilating each of them. The 10th Red Division attacked the south of Guangshan from the mall to restrain the enemy of Guangshan; the 12th and 73rd Red Divisions encircled and annihilated the enemy of Shuangliushu and Renheji in Huangchuan respectively; the 11th Red Division secretly inserted into the areas of Putaji and Pengjiadian in Huangchuan, cutting off the enemy's contact, and preparing to attack the enemy who came out of Huangchuan. On the 12th, the battle began, and the 10th Red Division annihilated 1 enemy regiment. At dawn on the 13th, the 12th Red Division launched an attack on the enemy of the Double Willow Tree from the east, south and west at the same time. Wang Liechen, the commander of the enemy's 456th Regiment, was captured, and the brigade commander Fan Longzhang was injured and fled back to Huangchuan City. The 11th Red Division captured Li Yaguang, the chief of staff of the 75th Division of the enemy, Han Wenying, the deputy commander and the commander of the 223rd Brigade, and Li Xuezheng, the commander of the independent regiment, in Putaji. Yin Lingsheng, the commander of the 224th Regiment, was killed on the spot. The enemy of Renheji's 227th Brigade was completely wiped out and captured the enemy's brigade commander Li Wanlin.
