To confirm that the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is an unparalleled grand canyon in the world, the researchers used one to 50,000 topographic maps and aerial surveys as the basis to make a standard section at the canyon of the 7782-meter Nangkabawa Peak and the 7234-meter Jialabai Peak, and then made two comparative sections across the Grand Canyon. The calculation results show that the average depth of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, which cuts through the Himalayas, is more than 5,000 meters, and the deepest place is 5,382 meters. The narrowest part of the bottom of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is only 74 meters, generally between 80 and 200 meters wide, and the total length is 370 kilometers. Yang Yichou, a researcher who has traveled most of the canyon, said that due to the abnormal turbulence of the river in some areas, close to the 300-meter-high rock cliffs galloping down, so far, no one has hiked through the Brahmaputra Grand Canyon.
