On this day, 40 years ago, October 1, 1985 (August 17, 1985 in the lunar calendar), Israeli aircraft attacked the PLO headquarters. On October 1, 1985, new victims emerged in the brutal and deadly cyclical war in the Middle East. Israeli aircraft flew 1500 miles to Tunisia, bombing the headquarters of the Palestine Liberation Organization there.
